Please ensure your hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo before application of our DM Tape Hair Extensions. No treatment, conditioner or oil to the scalp is required as this will not let the tapes stick properly. If this is not done, DM Hair Extensions cannot take responsibility for any issues caused. This is suggested for all methods such as tapes, micro beads & keratin bonds.

After a professional has applied your DM Tape Hair Extensions you’ll need to wait 3 days to wash your hair. This is vital so the tape can bond and stick properly. We do not take any responsibility for any extensions falling out if the proper care is not applied. We also suggest this for the micro beads & the keratin bonds.

When washing your DM Hair Extensions you need to be as gentle as possible. Washing gently inside with ONLY SHAMPOO and NO CONDITIONER near the roots. Any conditioner softening treatments or oils, will loosen the tape and make them slip. It can also make them oily inside and then cause stickiness. Conditioner is to only be put from mid lengths down. The less you wash your hair extensions the more they will last. The more heat you apply the more you can dry them out. Please be weary of this. Try washing your hair extensions 1-2 times a week at the most. If you get oily hair and need to wash it often, tie up the extensions, and wash the top bit of your hair under the sink to keep it looking fresh or use dry shampoo. Try tying your hair up loosely, never too tight as it can pull on the roots of your extensions and cause damage to the natural hair. We suggest only using paraben, sulfate, protein silicon and detergent free products on your hair extensions. We only suggest our range of products as we know and have tested them and can assure you it will keep the life expectancy of your hair extensions the longest as possible. We cannot take responsibility for damage caused from using products that aren’t from our range. If you would like to know more about our hair extensions products please ask us. Step 1: before getting into the shower brush your hair to ensure all the knots are out. Step 2: gently shampoo in between your rows and on top of your hair, if it doesn’t lather up first time do another wash. Remember to not use too much product even if it’s just shampoo as it can break the bond and cause them to slip. Then Rinse. Step 3: get your conditioner mask or treatment and put it from mid Lengths down only. If it touches the roots it can cause them to slip. We suggest our repair mask for the ultimate hydrating mask to keep your extensions feeling silky smooth. Rinse out when finished! Step 4: get out of the shower and towel dry your hair extensions. Use an argon oil, from mid lengths down to help protect the hair from heat, using a small 50 cent size amount on your palm and running it through the mid lengths down. Brush your hair extensions holding it tight from the roots working your way up from the bottom to the top to ensure you aren’t putting any tension on the scalp. Step 5: you can choose to let your DM hair extensions dry naturally or blow dry them yourself.

If you choose to dry them naturally, once dried please ensure you go through section by section, brush and straighten in between every row to make sure they don’t get tangled inside. Also please make sure your hair extensions aren’t damp inside if you leave it to dry naturally as it can cause damage to the hair extensions. If you choose to blow-dry them; section it row by row to make sure you don’t skip any rows. Your natural hair that is in between can get stuck and matted, so you want to be able to get through your extensions without it getting stuck in your fingers. Position the nozzle of the blow-dryer downwards, don’t get heat on the root of the tapes as it can melt the extensions let the roots dry naturally. After it is blow-dried you can choose to go over it with the hair straightener to smooth it out. If you use the hair straightener, remember to always use a heat protectant spray. Ask us for more information on our range. And you’re done! You’ll have beautiful, luscious hair extensions. Do no use the heat directly on the roots of the extensions.

Yes, you can colour your DM hair extensions. You can colour them darker but lightening them will damage them. Just like your natural hair putting bleach will dry out the hair. Hair extensions don’t have their natural oils to repair them from the scalp anymore, they also go through a chemical process to become the way they are. Once you colour them you will need to put treatments on them as often as possible. Please only use semi-permanent colours, as permanent colours can be damaging. Purple toning shampoo can be used on the extensions but as minimal as possible as they can be drying. Our purple toning shampoo from our range is made for extensions so it is more softening than others. Please ask us for our range! It is also not suggested to bleach your extensions. This will only cause breakage and damage your extensions. Please also remember if you do colour your hair extensions, do not touch the bonds of the tapes near your roots as it will cause them to slip out! We also suggest doing a spot test first before colouring to ensure it will be the colour desired. Please note, colouring your DM hair extensions will void any warranty as we can’t be liable for any damage caused.

When swimming in chlorinated water or salt water please avoid wetting the extensions if you do choose to please use argon oil or a treatment beforehand to protect and act as a barrier and wash your hair after wards as soon as possible to avoid any damage to the extensions. If your hair is blonde we don’t suggest getting into the water as it can change the colour of your extensions.

You may use a silk pillowcase as it can help not wake up with tangled extensions! You can plait your hair or tie it up, whichever you prefer. Never sleep with your hair wet / tied up wet as this will cause matting.

If you are a gym fanatic that is fine! Sweating and having oily hair can affect the time frame the extensions will stay in. If you go to the gym every day and sweat, it just means that you may need to retighten them sooner than the average person!

Retightening differs from person to person. Retightening is usually every 6-8 weeks. It all depends on the way you take care of your hair extensions (products, after care, brushing, styling, gym, swimming, tying up your hair). Please don’t leave your retightening for too long, as it can cause damage to the natural hair and get tangled inside. We recommend only DM Tape Hair Extension Removal Spray & DM Tape Hair Extension Tape Tabs for re-application. These products have been tested by us and we can only guarantee our own product’s quality. We will not be held liable for any customer that experiences removal or Re-application issues without proving they have purchased DM Hair Extension approved products from the DM Hair Extension Specialist online store.

It all depends on how you take care of them. Generally you retape them every 6-8 weeks, but if you do not take care of them as stated above they can tend to slip quicker. We highly suggest only our products for removal and retape. We have our own removal spray and our own tape tabs that we know and love the quality. We will not be held responsible if you use another brand of removal and tape to retape.

Clip In Hair Extensions do not need to be washed as often as Permanent Hair Extensions as they are not permanently in your hair. If you wear your clip ins every now and then and don’t apply much products to them, they don’t need to be washed as often. If you prefer the fresh soft silky feeling you can wash them as many times as you wish, but also remember the more you wash them / the more heat you are applying to them means they won’t last as long as they should. HOW TO WASH THE CLIP INS: Use a hair tie, and or clip to bunch up your hair extensions in a ponytail to stop them from getting matted. Wet & then shampoo. Never rub the extensions; always stroke downwards gently to avoid matting & tangling. Shampoo once if you haven’t used any products on them and just want to refresh them. Shampoo twice if you have used products on them. Rinse out. Next condition them, or put a mask on them for extra softness. We suggest our products for this especially our repair masks it smells amazing and it is softening. You will LOVE it! Rinse out, use argon oil, and / a heat protectant spray before you blow-dry or straighten them. Brush them out from the bottom working your way up to ensure you aren’t putting tension and pulling on the strands. Blow-dry them till dry. Brush them then straighten them for the ultimate smoothness! Use our moisture heat protectant spray for that extra shine & to detangle any nots!

A lot of people experience this, so please don’t stress. Try your best to not scratch at your scalp as you will irritate it further. Just rub your head where you feel itchy and it should go away soon! If you’re sweaty, or haven’t washed your hair for a few days and your hair gets oily this can be a couple of reasons as to why it is itchy. It can also get itchy if you haven’t washed your hair out properly from the products. Some clients are more sensitive than others. Some clients get itchy on the first application then it goes away, some clients also get itchy when it’s time to redo the extensions. Hang in there - it’s completely normal and if you have any concerns please contact us or contact the extension specialist that applied them for you for clarification.

Remy Hair refers to the direction of the cuticle on the hair. The hair collected is healthy, the cuticles are intact and all cuticles flow in the same direction from root to the tip the way it would in your own natural hair. Remy is the most preferred type of hair for high quality hair extensions.

At Diana Marie we pride ourselves on the quality we provide. We cannot promise you how long they will last as each individual will treat their extensions differently. European hair can last 4-6 months, and Russian hair can last a year +. If you don’t use the correct products the longevity can be less than this. We highly suggest buying our products specially made for extensions to get the longest wear out of your extensions.

The reason why the tapes can become sticky inside is because if you use any products containing sulfate, keratin, oil, alcohol or ethanol on the roots/bonds as these can wear down on the adhesive & cause it to become sticky & slip. Also, if you apply to much heat to the bonds of the extensions this can melt down the glue and bond and cause it to become sticky inside. Always keep your extensions clean. If you apply too much product near the roots and too much heat and or sweat, build up can occur and cause the extensions to slip causing stickiness inside. We suggest washing your hair 1-2 times per week max. The stickiness can occur after your retaping appointment. Everyone’s hair type is different. Sometimes it can stick to the natural hair and it is hard to remove as we can’t put anything oily or softening on your natural hair at your retaping appointment otherwise the extensions will not stick back on. The hair needs to be clarified so the extensions can stick! If the stickiness is becoming too much over time, we suggest our clients to remove their extensions instead of retaping for a couple of days. Once they go home put treatments in the hair, oils etc and comb through to get all reside out, then return for another appointment to apply them as we need clean non sticky hair to apply the tapes.

Clip ins are a do it yourself at home method. You just need to section your hair, and make sure the piece you are applying to head fits that spot, as your clip ins will come in all different sizing. Once you have figured that out comb your hair at the roots with a comb to ensure a tight hold open the clip and clip it into your hair! Continue doing this until you have applied as much as you desire. If you are buying a Permanent Hair Extension Method such as tapes, micro beads or keratin bonds, you’ll need us to apply them. The application will determine how the product performs. Diana Marie is not responsible for any damage to the product or its function due to improper application. If you apply the product yourself, or without a qualified hairdresser, then you accept the responsibility for any issues with the product related to application such as tangling, matting, piece’s falling out or slipping.
